Baking Powder Biscuits
Preheat oven to 425. Sift
together in a bowl:
2 cups flour
3 tsp. Baking powder
Cut in using a knife until
the size of peas:
1/4 cup butter
Add and form into a soft ball:
3/4 cup milk or soymilk
Turn dough onto a floured
board and knead lightly 20 times. Roll or pat dough until 1/2
inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters or a glass. Place on ungreased
baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Serve hot. Makes
18 to 20.
For cheese biscuits add 1 cup grated cheese with the butter.
Increase milk to 1 cup and drop on cookie sheet by tablespoonfuls. |
