How do I find out more about the boxes and products?

What is a box?
A box is a balanced selection of fruits and vegetables including root vegetables, greens and salad stuff! Produce is sourced as close to home as possible.

Which size shall I choose?
Our Singles Box feed 1-3 people per week. Our Orchard Box feeds 1-3 people per week with extra fruit. Our Family Box feeds 3-5 people per week. For more examples, click on Browse the Store.

What if I don’t like broccoli?
You can substitute another item yourself on line or set up items you NEVER want sent in the produce preference window. Then if you do not have time to customize yourself, we will do it for you!

What if I can't eat that much?
Try receiving a box every second week, or splitting a box with a friend.

Can I have a particular fruit or vegetable every week?
You can add them to your Standing Order. If we have these products on hand we would add them on in addition to your produce box. Prices will vary depending on date of delivery. You can also add them to your Produce Preferences as an ALWAYS send and we will send it in your box when it is available.

Where does the produce come from?
We offer fresh seasonal produce from within our bio-region all year round. In the summer and fall we are 60 to 80 percent local, supplemented by Okanogan fruit and the odd lemon or avocado! We buy BC seasonal and storage produce as much as possible.

In the heart of winter we purchase from California and Mexico. Our certified organic fair trade bananas come from Ecuador. You won’t find us offering peaches from Argentina in January or apples from New Zealand in June. Our own summer apples in July taste all the better for it! You will find some wonderful new types of squash, potatoes, tomatoes, etc that you will not see in the grocery stores AND you will be helping to increase plant bio diversity.

Can I customize my box?
Within the framework of what is offered each week you can make choices and/or make unlimited changes on our order program at your CURRENT ORDER You can go in make changes on your Current Order as often as you want before the deadline for final changes. You will receive an email confirmation after each session.

What if I forget to modify my box?
We will customize the box for you based on your Produce Preferences. You can indicate which products you NEVER want and those you ALWAYS want and we will do it for you.

When can I modify my current order?
You can modify your orders from Wednesday 6 PM until Sunday 9:00 am.

Why can’t I customize my box?
If the button beside your box says VIEW that means the new box has not yet been posted. We are still talking to farmers and finding the best produce. The box is posted everyTthursday night at 6 PM and the deadline for changes is Sunday at 9 M.

Is there a delivery charge?
FREE DELIVERY with a PRODUCE BOX
Without a box a $7.50 delivery charge will apply to:

orders under $45 - excluding milk and cream AND bulk orders (produce and dry goods from our Bulk Section).

 

What are the deadlines for changes?
Deadline for changes is the Sunday 9 AM for Tuesday and Wednesday deiveries and Tuesday 9 am for Thursday deliveries before your delivery date. Changes cannot be made on the web site after the deadline. Please call us with any emergency requests. We will try to make your change.
Please indicate your full name, delivery day and produce box size when you phone or fax your order. A late cancellation fee of $10.00 will apply to cancellations made after the deadline. Changes cannot be made after the deadline. Please call us with any emergency requests.

What is the deadline for cancellations?
Deadline for cancellations is the Sunday 9 AM for Tuesday and Wednesday deiveries and Tuesday 9 am for Thursday before your delivery date. Changes cannot be made on the web site after the deadline. Please call us for late cancellations. $10 late cancellation fee will apply.

Do I have to order online?
No. You can phone 250-595-6729 or fax 250-595-6721 your order as soon as the produce listings are available every Thursday evening. We can send an email reminder the Thursday prior to your delivery. Let us know on your Registration form.

You can also simply reply to that email indicating your changes. Please indicate your full name, delivery day and produce box size when you phone or fax your order. A late cancellation fee of $10.00 will apply to cancellations made after the deadline.

When will my order be delivered?
Your current order will be delivered on Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday depending on where you are located. Please contact Share Organics to find an approximate time. Currently we deliver in Greater Victoria west into View Royal and North to Cordova Bay. We can deliver to your office if you live outside our area.  TO FIND YOUR DELIVERY DAY go to New Customer Sign Up and choose your area.

Do I have to be home to receive my order?
No. We can give you a 2-hour time frame for your delivery. You tell us where to leave the bin. Deliveries are made is a rubber maid tote and are secure from rain and wild life.

Will my produce be safe outside?
Have your bin and payment out at your designated, shady, pick up / drop off spot first thing in the morning to ensure proper delivery. In the warmer months the delivery person will leave your produce box in shady spot and include an ice pack to ensure the longevity of your produce.

How do I store the produce?
Once you have received your produce box, store all produce properly to ensure that your produce lasts as long as possible. Check out our storage guide.

What if I am not satisfied?
We guarantee our products! If you are not satisfied with some of the produce that you received, be sure to get in touch with us so we can replace those items for you. We will keep you in touch with the produce seasons so you’ll know what to expect. Winter storage crops tend to sprout and will not keep as long!

How can I pay for my order?
You can pay by cheque or through on line or phone banking with most of the major banks and credit unions. Share Organics operates on a C.O.D. (cash on delivery) or prepay basis only. When you are paying by cheque, make your cheque payable to 'Share Organics'” and leave it out inside your empty bin.

How will I know how much I owe?
You will receive an order confirmation from the web site each time you adjust your order. You will also receive an email invoice the night before your delivery. We try to indicate any short, out of stocks or last minute produce changes. Your invoice/packing slip will be in your bin with your delivery.

What if I forget to leave my bin and payment out?
Please mail the payment to our mailing address:

The bin will then be picked up on the next delivery date

What if I need to Skip a delivery?
To postpone or cancel your produce box for awhile go to your Current Order page and enter your holiday cancellation period. If phoning or faxing in your holidays please indicate the resume date.

Do I have to have a standing order?
No. We can send you an email each week when our produce list is available and you can add a box, produce items or groceries to your Current order (what you want on a specific date).

Do I have to order a box?
No. You can choose from our list of fresh local produce and groceries in your Current Order. Minimum Order is $45 (not including Milk & Cream and Bulk products) for free delivery.  Otherwise a $7.50 fee will be added.
