Instructions
|
1) Core and dice apples into 1-inch pieces. Toss with 2-tsp. cinnamon.
2) Melt butter in saucepan. Brush butter on the bottom of a 9-inch square pan. Fold I phyllo layer in half and put into the bottom of the cake pan. Brush butter on the layer and continue until 4 sheets have been used. Place apples in the pan next and then continue layering using the last 4 sheets of pastry.
3) Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. In same saucepan add honey, cinnamon and juice of orange or lemon to the leftover butter if any. Heat to melt the honey. When tart is nicely browned on top, remove from oven and score the top pastry in diamond shapes. Pour honey mixture over top and let cool.
